What Homestimo is

Homestimo gives homeowners planning estimates for home projects based on public property records and typical local labor and material prices. An estimate is not a contractor bid, an inspection, an appraisal or a guarantee of price.

Accuracy

Public records can be incomplete or out of date, and real projects vary with the contractor, materials and site conditions. You are responsible for checking your home's details and getting written quotes before you hire anyone. Homestimo is not responsible for decisions you make based on an estimate.

Home Preview (detailed reports)

A Home Preview (our detailed report) is a one-time digital purchase for one home and one project. It opens right after payment, and we email the link to the address you use at checkout so you can come back to it.

DIY guides

A step-by-step DIY guide is a one-time digital add-on to a report. It gives general instructions for typical homes. Follow the directions on your product labels, use ladders and tools safely, and stop and hire a professional if a step is beyond your comfort. You are responsible for your own work; Homestimo is not liable for injuries or damage from doing it yourself.

Quote checks

When you upload a contractor's quote, you confirm it is a quote you received for your own home and that you may share it with us. Our comparison is automated and can misread a document; check the numbers against your copy. A quote check is a planning comparison, not an inspection, legal advice or an opinion on any contractor. You allow Homestimo to keep and use the price and scope details from your quote, and the address of the home it's for, as described in our privacy policy, to compare quotes and improve local price ranges.

Scope links

You choose whom you send a scope link to and what it shows. Prices contractors send through a link are their own statements, not offers from Homestimo, and are not binding until you agree on a written contract with the contractor. Homestimo does not vet or recommend the contractors you send links to.

Product links

Product suggestions in reports are general examples by quality tier, not a recommendation for your specific surfaces. Prices, stock and product details are set by each store and can change. Some links are affiliate links and may earn Homestimo a commission at no cost to you. Purchases are between you and the store.

Payments and sales tax

Purchases are processed by Stripe through its Managed Payments service: Link, a Stripe company, acts as the reseller (merchant of record), adds any applicable sales tax at checkout and pays it to the tax authorities. Your card statement and receipt may show Link or “Sold through Link”.

Refunds

If your report or guide doesn't load, or it is based on the wrong home, email get@homestimo.com within 14 days of purchase and we'll fix it or refund you.

Acceptable use

Don't copy, scrape or resell Homestimo estimates or data, or try to disrupt the service.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Homestimo's total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the report in question.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas.
